4 go-to resources for mastering the new Facebook timeline

from Katya Andresen

Just when you thought you had Facebook figured out, it’s time for the new Facebook pages. Since surveys show 90% of nonprofits are on Facebook, this news likely affects you.  So I want to point you to the best resources I’ve seen this week on how to make a successful shift to the new format on Facebook.

1. Get oriented.  First off, here’s a 101 on the new pages and what yours will look like.  And here’s Beth Kanter’s summary of what this means to you.

2. Get started.  Second, check out Heather Mansfield’s how-to guide to custom-design your new Timeline.

3. Get inspired.  Third, find inspiration in the examples of nonprofits that have made a successful shift.  Check out their pages here.

4. Make it pretty. Last, a guest post on Beth Kanter’s blog on getting your cover image just right - without having to hire a designer.
