Below is text for an appeal I'm working on for the ETHEL Foundation for the Arts. Could you please take a look and provide some feedback?
Title: Help Us Achieve Our Goals in 2011
What a year we've had!
Once again, we participated in the Native American Composers Apprentice Project tour, mentoring young com-posers and musicians, and appearing at the Grand Canyon and Moab Music Festivals. In a separate project, we recorded "Oshtali: Music for String Quartet," a collection of 16 classical pieces composed by Chickasaw Nation students.
We presented ground-breaking compositions in festivals and tours that took us from California to Kalingrad, Russia. An exciting highlight was our gig as house band for the influential TED Conference, working with icons like David Byrne and Thomas Dolby.
In many ways, 2010 has been our most successful year yet. And 2011 promises even more: A new CD, numerous premieres of new compositions, expanded outreach to young musicians, and international tours.
But we cannot reach our full potential without you, the generous supporters of ETHEL's Foundation for the Arts . The foundation enables us to perform and collaborate with a diverse and inspiring array of composers and musicians, and funds our mentoring of young musicians and commissioning of new works from some of today's most innovative composers.
To keep our outreach robust, we're asking that you consider supporting ETHEL's Foundation for the Arts with an end-of-year tax-deductible donation. Whether it's $25 or $2,500, any amount will help ETHEL achieve our goal of inspiring and creating music for the 21st century. Please click here now and help us make 2011 the best year yet for our audiences, collaborators, and growing family of composers.
As always, ETHEL is deeply appreciative of your support, big and small.
Until we see you again, we wish you a joyous holiday season and a new year filled with the magic of musical discovery.
Cornelius, Dorothy, Mary, and Ralph
