HTML updates

We received the notification to update our html tags in the following fields:

  • Remove all HTML from the following fields:
    • Organization Name
    • Thank You Statement
    • Custom Question Option Text
    • Custom Question Option Value
However, I'm not sure I understand how the font settings will be included if the tags are removed. For example: our publication name-Journal of Ordinary Thought needs to be intalicized, so if the html tags are removed, how does that happen?

Thank you

Re: HTML updates

Hi Donna,

Thank for contacting Network for Good!

The sections that will no longer support HTML tags with the upgraded system should not affect the way that you're italicizing your publication name. Looking at your donation form, you're using the publication name in your Introductory Statement and the Thank You Gifts section. You can continue using HTML tags in these sections as long as you are using the approved tags outlined in the email.

Note: To italicize your text, you can use the <i> and </i> tags.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions!

Sincerely,
Carrie

Re: HTML updates

Thank you. It did work, although the thank you statement no longer has paragraphs. Hopefully, that will be fixed with the upgrade.

Another question has to do with the EventsNow program. When I click on the "Get Started Now" button, I receive an error that takes me to Adobe ColdFusion website. Are we required to have ColdFusion to make your new initiative work?

Thanks for your time.

Re: HTML updates

Great news - in the Upgraded DonateNow system we have separated the code used for the plain text email receipt and the online version. This will allow your organization to enter HTML for the online version without having the code show up in the plain text receipt that gets sent to your donors. You will be able to adjust this once your account has been upgraded.

The EventsNow link should direct you to an agreement that you must accept before proceeding to the system. You do not need any additional software or applications to use the EventsNow system. Can you verify what web browser you are using? Our site works best with Internet Explorer and Firefox, so perhaps trying a different browser may resolve your problem with the link.

Re: HTML updates

Yes, I've accepted the agreement and that is when I get the error which, when clicked, takes me to ColdFusion.

I am using FireFox.

This is the error box I receive.

Error Occurred While Processing Request
Element GZ_STATUS is undefined in SESSION.

Please try the following:

* Enable Robust Exception Information to provide greater detail about the source of errors. In the Administrator, click Debugging & Logging > Debugging Settings, and select the Robust Exception Information option.
* Check the ColdFusion documentation to verify that you are using the correct syntax.
* Search the Knowledge Base to find a solution to your problem.

Re: HTML updates

Thanks for providing the additional information! Please log into My Account again and give linking into EventsNow another try. You should now see a link that says "Sign On to EventsNow".

Re: HTML updates

I have reported the issue to our tech team for research. I do not have the details on what the exact problem was at the moment but it seems to be browser related. I’ll be able to provide additional details on the problem once our team has looked into it.
