Encouraging Employee Storytelling

According to Edelman research, employees want more information about their company’s social and environmental impactand want to be more involved in corporate cause initiatives.

Here's the first of three ways to help your employees bring your corporate social responsibility (CSR) reporting to life and craft your company’s impact story with authenticity.

1) Encourage Storytelling: People respond to emotional appeals, dramatic tales and compelling images. If you want your CSR story to come alive, let employees share how social and environmental impact is a part of their job.

Did a group of employees complete a pro bono project in the community? Ask them to write a blog post or photo essay of the work and what they learned. The idea is to let other employees know all the small (and big) ways CSR values are incorporated into work across the company.
